Cyber Tip #1: 5 Ways to Spot a Phishing email
Phishing is the #1 way hackers breach small businesses. Here's how to stop it today

Hi there,
Welcome to the first issue of the SMB Cyber Bulletin
Let’s start with something every small business needs to master: spotting phishing emails. Phishing is the most common way hackers steal your data, money, or passwords.
Here are 5 simple signs an email is a scam:
Urgency or fear — e.g., “Your account will be closed immediately!”
Strange sender address — like [email protected] instead of @paypal.com.
Generic greeting — “Dear user” instead of your real name.
Suspicious links — hover your mouse to check the real URL; if it looks odd, don’t click.
Unexpected attachments — never open attachments you weren’t expecting.
Your action step today: Choose one recent email you found suspicious and check it against these 5 signs. Share these with your team — most breaches start with one employee clicking a bad link.
Remember: When in doubt, don’t click. Call the sender directly using a known phone number.
Have questions or want me to break down a suspicious email you’ve received? Hit reply, I’m here to help.
Stay safe,
